Samsung Ends Manufacturing of PBX Phone Systems

In June of 2019, the end of life of Samsung PBX and Samsung PABX phone systems. All Samsung PBX products are to be discontinued in rolling steps. This is part of a continuing restructuring and reorganising effort by Samsung Korea as it works on new innovations to further aid the telecommunications and digital office economy in South Africa and across the globe.

United Telecoms Still Providing Support for Samsung Phone Systems

Naturally, this announcement has changed the market in many ways. However, it is important to note that United Telecoms still sells Office Serv and SCM Samsung PABX and PBX phone systems as used or refurbished products. We also still provide support and maintenance for any Samsung office phone systems you may still have in use at your business. While we can provide replacement parts for your systems as well, they will be refurbished and not new.

Our Samsung product customers can still take advantage of and use these PBX systems for the entirety of their proposed lifespan, but no new Samsung products are available to be purchased.

What Products Are Being Discontinued?

As we mentioned above, Samsung’s EOL (End of Life) announcement marked the discontinuation of these specific products:

• Samsung SCME
• Samsung Office Serv
• Samsung IP Phone

Up until the EOL announcement, Samsung had the record for most successful channel partners, holding 35% of the market share in South Africa. This made it the number one choice for telecommunications and digital business phone products distribution.
